Our Claims Service

"All insurance companies are pretty much the same, until you submit a claim."
Ryan Dudley, CEO

Most reputable insurance companies "cover" you and your property just fine. The difference comes when you submit a claim. We asked - and more than 9 out of 10 Grange insureds say they are "pleased" or "extremely pleased" with everything about our claim service.

  • Speed of response.
  • Settlement amount.
  • Attitude of agent, adjuster and everyone else involved.

If you've ever filed a claim with another company, you're in for a pleasant surprise with Grange Insurance Group. We're committed to providing quality claim service from your initial report through the final resolution, and to providing you with fast, professional and caring service during the claims process.

If you are involved in an auto accident:

  • If there are injuries, seek appropriate medical attention for yourself or other injured parties.
  • Gather as much information as you can. Keep in mind, you are the best reporter of the details of the accident, including any injuries that may have resulted. The more details of the accident you can tell us, the better we can assist you.
  • Report the claim to your agent or nearest Regional Claims Center as soon as possible.
  • We can help you arrange vehicle repair if you need it. Or, use one of our Approved Body Shops (ABS). Each ABS is dedicated to providing timely service at a competitive rate to reduce the hassle of having your car repaired. The ABS will work with you and the GIG Claims Representative to make sure your car is repaired to your satisfaction in a timely manner.

In the event of property damage to your residence by theft or break-in, the most important thing is the safety of you and your family.

  • Contact your local law enforcement to report the incident.
  • Make a list of the property that was stolen or damaged and include any damage done to your home. Providing detailed information such as the model number, place and date of purchase, and amount of damaged or stolen property will expedite the claim process. Receipts, owner's manuals, canceled checks and credit card statements will also be beneficial.

If your home has suffered water damage:

  • Move affected property items out of the immediate area.
  • Immediately report the claim to your agent or call 800-546-8850.
  • To find an approved contractor in your area call 800-546-8850.

In the event of fire or flood:

  • Protect your family first and get them out of danger.
  • Report the claim immediately to your agent.
  • If your home is uninhabitable and you must stay elsewhere, please keep all receipts including your hotel expense and food receipts. Receipts are helpful in determining reimbursement and documenting your out-of-pocket expenses.

In the event of a liability claim against you:

  • A liability claim involves a person or persons who feel they have sustained injury or property damage, either on or off your property, allegedly caused by your negligence or actions.
  • If someone is injured on your property, begin by ensuring the injured party(ies) is properly cared for.
  • It is very important for you to gather as much information as possible including the name(s), address and where the party(ies) can be reached including the phone number.
  • Please gather all the information you can about the incident, including names of witnesses who may have seen the event, conditions at the time and any information you believe will assist us in our investigation.
  • Report liability claims immediately to your insurance agent.
